Cosmically Curated / Anti-Panic Edition

The last few days have been interesting, to say the least. There are a lot of question marks lingering above our heads, and in times like this, we have to take care of one another.

For some of us, this is an opportunity to stay home, work remotely, and take some time to dive deeper into our practice, but for many of us social distancing and sheltering in place is incredibly challenging. Whether you’re struggling with finances, job instability, childcare, food or shelter insecurity, being in close quarters with abusive people, or living with mental illness or all types of disability, these are challenging times.

We’re here to support our community, and are available via email or DM to do all that we can to help find mutual aid, offer care and support, and serve as a friend. Reach out if you need help, we are here. We will get through this together!

The first Cosmically Curated list was going to be a little different, but given the circumstances, we wanted to put together a list highlighting some of the things that are helping us stay in an anti-panic state of mind. Dive in, and let us know what you think.

GROUND + CENTER
You Were Born to be Phenomenal Morning Motivation by Natalia Benson

In times of chaos, it’s more important than ever to focus on reflection and meditation. Remember, witches: we are divine beings with divine powers! Consider taking some time to add a new element to your grounding and centering practices, to spice it up a bit. We’re keeping this one on repeat this week to remind us just how fucking awesome we are.

LISTEN + LEARN
Ghost of a Podcast Episode 91: COVID-19, What Else?! + Astrology by Jessica Lanyadoo
Strange Magic / Between the Worlds Podcast

Listening to Jessica Lanyadoo’s podcast always brings a great sense of peace, but this one about COVID-19 in particular brought us so much relief. From using handwashing as a spiritual ritual, to the astroweather of the pandemic, to how to cope with anxiety around coronavirus, this podcast is exactly what we needed this week.

We’re also doing a deep dive into the archives of the Strange Magic / Between the Worlds podcast to get a better knowledge of the tarot. We started way back with the first episode to learn the cards in order, starting with the Major Arcana, but starting with the most recent episode is great too. Each and every episode of this podcast is a true gem.

MAKE MAGICK
30 Day Art Challenge by Danielle Krysa of @TheJealousCurator

Leave it to Danielle over at The Jealous Curator to turn a quarantine into an art project. She’s challenging people to make one piece of art a day until mid-April, and we are so in. Make some art and tag it with #30dayartquarantine and #wearethecharmed so we can see your mystical works! Need some inspiration? Here are some witchy words to get you going: goddess, flame, malachite, broom, creatrix, raven, incense, sisterhood, cups, gibbous, matches, geode, serpent, non-binary, veil, luminous, sphinx, hex, potion, cosmic, decadent, ancestral, charm, thirteen, ouroboros, amethyst, seance, manifest, delicious, divine.

SUPPORT THE COVEN ECONOMY
Girl Gang Craft
Lady Moon Co
Witch Baby Soaps

One of our biggest goals here at The Charmed is to support our community and build the ultimate coven economy. Especially in these uncertain times, support local small businesses and our witchy entrepreneurs! Your money is what will keep these babes in business. We’re obsessed with the Call Up Your Coven tank at Girl Gang Craft, and the Stay Home Do Spells tee from Lady Moon Co is really speaking to us right now. And if we’re stuck at home, why not take an indulgent bath with the Rest in Peace bath bomb from Witch Baby Soaps?

SUPPORT OTHERS + YOURSELF

Lastly, and most importantly, remember to check in with yourself and your loved ones. Make sure to unplug and set boundaries as needed, to step away from your stressors even for a few minutes, to get out in nature, and to know that we will make it to the other side of this together.

If you’re able to give financially and wish to help out, here are some places to start: Your local food bank or Meals on Wheels, National Domestic Workers Alliance, Mutual Aid Fund for LGBTQI+ BIPOC Folks, Feeding America, No Kid Hungry, Bartender Emergency Assistance Fund. Please feel free to add more resources and charitable organizations in the comments.

We will continue to help small businesses and our coven during the COVID-19 outbreak. If you have any ideas, resources, or recommendations, please reach out! Our community is here to support one another. We love you.
